Update on coronavirus – 28 September 2020

  • Date28 September 2020

An individual from the Royal Holloway community has confirmed that they have contracted coronavirus (Covid-19). The individual is self-isolating and we wish them a speedy recovery.

Members of their household are now self-isolating for 14 days in accordance with government guidelines. The university is also working to identify anyone else that the individual may have come into close contact with.

There are currently no other confirmed cases of coronavirus at Royal Holloway.

Douglas Searle, Director of Health and Safety, Royal Holloway, University of London said:

“The health, safety and well-being of students, staff and our wider community is a priority at Royal Holloway and we understand that people may be concerned. NHS Test and Trace or the university will be in touch with anyone we believe may have been in close contact with the individual concerned.  We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and would urge the whole community to continue to follow the rules and guidance in relation to social distancing and hygiene measures.”
