Dr Fauzia Idrees Abro, from the Department of Information Security, has been named among the winners of the Future CISO 100 Awards.
The awards, aimed at empowering emerging leaders in the global security and technology community, are designed to celebrate sound leadership, as well as innovation in the field. CISO stands for Chief Information Security Officer.
The winners were announced by HotTopics, a leading global C-suite community, in partnership with CrowdStrike, a company focused on cybersecurity. C-suite refers the top positions at a company – including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
The Future CISOs were nominated through a voting process, with the winners selected by a panel of judges from within the field.
Dr Abro was one of only three winners from within the education sector – alongside colleagues from King’s College London and University of Oxford.
Dr Abro said: “I'm incredibly honoured and humbled to have received the Top 100 Future CISO Award. This recognition means the world to me.
“I’m grateful to HotTopics, CrowdStrike, and the honourable judges for this recognition. I would also like to thank my family, friends, colleagues, and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey.
“This award is a testament to our collective efforts, and I couldn't have achieved this without their unwavering support.”
