It’s time for the annual Royal Holloway Science Festival

Once again the Faculty of Science at Royal Holloway, University of London will host a free programme full of fun and educational talks, hands-on activities and events on Saturday 9 March, 10am to 4pm for the hugely popular Royal Holloway Science Festival.

Royal Holloway will be joined by The Royal Institution who will present Energy LIVE!, an exciting audience-led show, delving into the different stores of how energy affects our lives, involving lively fire-based demos.

Other activities offered on the day are:

  • Planetarium shows
  • Big Bang Experience
  • The Unexpected Maths of Juggling
  • Live steam engines
  • Birds of Prey
  • Meet the robots
  • Wizard lab

Professor Jose Fiadeiro, Dean of the Faculty of Science, said: “We have another great line up of activities taking place at this year’s free Science Festival.

“Everyone is welcome to be inspired by the wonder of science, and it’s set to be an exciting day for all ages.

“Royal Holloway is home to a wealth of pioneering research, and the Science Festival gives people the chance to come along and experience some of this fantastic work first hand.”

The free tickets for talks and shows will be released on the day and are first come, first serve.

Anyone wishing to come along can pick tickets up at the information point in Windsor Building at Royal Holloway.

Morning tickets will be released at 9.45am on the day and afternoon (for events from 1pm) will be released at 11.45pm.

No booking required and car parking is available on site.

Refreshments are available to purchase at the festival food fair and other outlets across campus.
