Royal Holloway alumna, Dunola Oladapo, has been selected as a Schwarzman Scholar, a prestigious graduate fellowships, located at Tsinghua University in Beijing. The program aims to give the world’s best and brightest graduates the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and professional networks.
Dunola, is one of 147 scholars selected from over 2,800 applicants, and the Class of 2020 is comprised of graduates from 38 countries and 119 universities. Dunola, along with her new fellow classmates, were selected through a rigorous application process designed to evaluate academic ability, as well as leadership potential and strength of character.
Dunola, who graduated from Royal Holloway in 2016, with a with a 1st Class degree in BSc Economics, is currently an FX Operations Analyst at Goldman Sachs, a Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassador, and a leadership board member of the UK #iWillFund.
Dunola was also selected as the UK Ambassador to the 2017 Girls20 Summit in Munich, from which she has developed a project, named Luton Lights, aimed at empowering women and girls in her hometown. Her efforts within the local community have seen her win the Community Spirits, Women of the Future award.
Speaking of the fellowship, Dunola said: “It’s a great honour to earn this distinction and be given the opportunity to further my education. I’m so excited to enrol in August, as a representative of Royal Holloway, and the Economics Department that gave me the platform to kick start my career.”
