Amritha, MA Victorian Literature, Art and Culture
"Mere words cannot express my gratitude for receiving the prestigious Bedford Society Scholarship. I am immensely grateful to be chosen as a Bedford Society Scholar to preserve the moral values and philosophy of Bedford College.
In my Bachelor’s, I majored in English Literature, Journalism and Psychology. Fuelled by my interest in combining literature and feminism, I published a research paper examining the tradition of marriage. My undergraduate thesis was also based on exploring female agency in the 19th century. As an intern with the newspaper, the Times of India, I published 3 articles covering various issues. I am elated to be a recipient of a scholarship that embodies the spirit of intellectual inquiry. I am eager to meet other Bedfordians to discuss their experiences."

“After receiving my Bachelor’s degree in psychology in Turkey from Koç University, I am thrilled to continue my studies with the MSc Clinical Psychology programme. I feel immensely grateful to follow my dreams of becoming a clinical psychologist and to make them come true with the generous support of Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, and The Bedford Society.
While I am continuing my studies, I am aiming to work in clinical settings to acquire as much clinical experience as I can. Moreover, I am excited to be able to adopt a dual approach to my education where alongside gaining practical experience, I can conduct research with the well-accomplished academic staff.”
