Thanks to generous alumni and supporters, we were able to exceed our target of £100,000 for this year's Big Give Christmas Challenge within the first 32 hours of the campaign going live.

At the conclusion of the week-long campaign, a total of £126,256 had been raised from 268 generous donors!

These funds will support scholarships and other programmes to give students extra help in these extraordinary times. For many students, higher education is not an option and for some who are already here life can be a real struggle, especially in circumstances that we are currently faced with. Through the generosity and support of many during the Big Give, we are proud to be able to offer that extra help.

The proceeds from last year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge helped to fund 24 scholarships plus other support programmes including the Get Started bursary, which offers underrepresented students additional financial support as they start their university journey, and the Careers Placements Hardship Fund which helps students in need of financial support to pay for travel, work wear and IT equipment necessary to undertake a work placement.

The tremendous success of this campaign and the huge amount raised in such a short amount of time is testament to the inspiring and supportive community that we have both within and outside of Royal Holloway.
