Alumna Susan Richardson's (English 1990) latest book, 'Where the Seals Sing', a work of creative non-fiction that blends natural history and travel, science and shamanism, memoir and myth, has recently been published by HarperCollins.

It focuses on the Atlantic grey seal, a species that has visited our shores and enriched our culture for centuries. The book recounts Susan's journey to the crags and crevices of Britain’s coast and islands, exploring not only how grey seals live but also, in the light of the many threats they face, how we should live more sensitively with them. 'Where the Seals Sing' has also just been released in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
