10 academics associated with the School of Business and Management at Royal Holloway, University of London, have been named in Stanford University 2024 List of the top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists.
In its annual update to the lists of most influential researchers, Stanford University has named a combined total of eight academics from the School of Business and Management amongst the top 2% of scientists worldwide. The lists are considered among the most prestigious ranking worldwide, and classifies scientists into 22 different fields and 174 sub-fields, with the selection based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile rank of 2% or above in the sub-field.
The team of researchers at Stanford University, led by Professor John P.A. Ioannidis, compile the list of top cited scientists by c-score, using data from the Scopus database (owned by publisher Elsevier). Working with complete year datasets (up to end of 2023), the team publishes two lists – one based on career long data and one focusing on the previous year. The career-long list skews data to senior scientists who will have published more papers over the course of their career, compared to junior scientists in the earlier stages of their careers. The second list concentrates on those who have excelled in the previous year, to recognise the top scientists actively participating and publishing high impact research.
