The Royal Holloway Computing Society has joined forces with Insanity Radio to launch the CompSoc Radio Show.
Kicked off during the Autumn term, the CompSoc Radio Show aims to "Investigate and demystify the magic that is Computer Science". Experts in the field are brought on to the show to discuss their interests, experiences, and share insightful information on breaking into the technology industry.
So far, guests have ranged from Ph.D. student Phil Ovington to Principal of the Information Security Forum Mark Chaplin.
The show is hosted by Vice President of the society, John Samuels, and co-hosted by several members of the committee including Wes Sleeman, Megi Braholli, Nkeiruka Whenu, and William Campany.
Insanity Radio is a community radio station, which is a part of Royal Holloway and has been broadcasting since 1997. Jamie Woods, The station manager at Insanity Radio, said "One of Insanity's core objectives is to work with local groups and student societies. It's been fantastic having CompSoc host a radio show on the station, which is heard across the county, and we continue to enjoy working with students and staff from Royal Holloway's Computer Science department, who have been supportive of the station since it was formed in 1997. Computer Science students have always fuelled the drive behind the station's technical team, which itself has been recognised nationally many times for its contributions to the broadcasting community."
This term, the show will be broadcasted locally from campus on 103.2 FM every Tuesday at 16:00. All the shows will be available on 8 platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcast, and Google Podcast. You can listen to the latest episodes at https://anchor.fm/computing-society
