Following a rigorous evaluation process, the Department of Computer Science has been successful in the National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC) degree certification scheme, which recognises high quality in cyber security education.

The NCSC runs the certified degree programme to help students make informed decisions about the range of courses on offer at UK universities and to help set a high standard of cyber security teaching across higher education.

The department's BSc Computer Science (Information Security) degree is now one of only two bachelor's degree programmes in the UK fully certified by NCSC, and the only one in England. Our MSci Computer Science (Information Security) integrated Master's degree is now the only fully certified integrated Master's degree in the UK. Both degrees are delivered in collaboration with Royal Holloway's world-leading Information Security Group.

The following degrees are now fully certified by NCSC:

Chris Ensor, NCSC Deputy Director for Cyber Growth, said:

"I am delighted that both the Bachelor’s and Integrated Master’s degrees in Computer Science (Information Security) offered at Royal Holloway have received full NCSC certification for the high quality of cyber security education they provide.

"Offering a certified degree helps prospective students make more informed choices about their future career prospects in cyber security and employers can rest assured that graduates will have been well-taught and have the foundations on which to build valued industry skills."

More information about NCSC certification, including the complete list of fully certified degrees, can be found on the NCSC's website here.
