Professor Matthew Cohen tours Asia this Summer

Professor Matthew Cohen is in Asia for the summer. He is presenting papers at the Performance Studies international conference in Daegu and the Asia Culture Center in Gwangju, South Korea.

He will be touring Java, Indonesia at the end of July and first half of August, performing as solo puppeteer in an 11-city tour of a wayang kulit production with gamelan musicians from the UK (including Royal Holloway alumn Katie Bruce) and Cirebon (West Java, Indonesia).  This tour is funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia with the support of the Cirebon chapter of Pepadi, the national puppeteer union. He is also an invited speaker at the International Gamelan Festival in Solo, Central Java.
