Using Poetry to Raise Awareness About Marine Plastic Pollution

Claire Cox Haiku

PhD candidate Claire Cox has been selected as project poet for Clean Seas Odyssey, an initiative to research and gather data to better understand the growing crisis of marine plastic pollution. This summer, Claire wrote, and coordinated a haiku a day social media post. She also sailed with the Clean Seas Odyssey team on the final leg of their data-gathering journey this summer from Brighton to the Solent. The experience will inform Claire's poetry practice-based thesis. Well done, Claire!
