The MSc Occupational Therapy pre-registration (*new course under development) is a postgraduate masters leading to a professional qualification registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) to practice Occupational Therapy in different sectors and age groups in the UK and globally.
Our new MSc Occupational Therapy pre-registration course has a unique focus on addressing contemporary issues like disaster management, sustainability, and global health as well as local solutions.
The Department of Health Studies are seeking to accredit this degree with the Royal College of Occupational Therapy so the degree will be recognised by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
This two-year masters will equip you with a range of transferrable skills to develop a rewarding career as an occupational therapist in traditional and emerging roles focused on solutions for healthy communities. We offer:
- a combination of on-campus learning and placements to develop your practice-based experience and establish strong employment networks.
- stimulating teaching from experts to inspire and challenge you, and the flexibility to explore your own interests.
- learning the methods and skills needed to work with individual clients as well as community groups in the public and environmental health sector.
The Course Director for MSc (pre-reg) Occupational Therapy is Samita Kirve,
Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy, who has over 25 years of experience in Occupational Therapy (OT) and Higher Education, as a dedicated academic and clinician with a passion for teaching and research.
