The Department of Health Studies is a hub for world-leading research, knowledge exchange and public engagement.
The Department of Health Studies is a hub for world-leading research, knowledge exchange and public engagement. We are currently undertaking projects on the health of human population and the environment across the world: in Nigeria, Turkey, Cambodia, Kenya, as well as in the UK, on subjects as diverse as landed community kitchens in the North of England to the impact of health on the health of brick kiln workers in Cambodia, and from minority ethnic women’s experience of menopause to nature based solution to climate change. The full range of our collaborations is shown here.
Our young and dynamic department builds on world-class research and interdisciplinary collaborations between Health Studies and a number of departments and schools at Royal Holloway, as well as leading health and environmental organisations. These include Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the Planetary Health Alliance.
We are a member of CHAP, an Agri-Tech Centre funded by Innovate UK. CHAP brings together leading scientists, farmers, advisors, innovators and businesses to understand industry challenges, drive research and innovation and develop and trial solutions that transform crop systems.
