Videos in this playlist explore Medieval milestones in British history, from the Battle of Hastings to the Peasant’s Revolt to the Pilgrimage of Grace.
This selection of videos includes dramatizations of primary sources and a collaboration with Chertsey Museum. This playlist is aligned with Part 2 of AQA’s Power and the People module and the c. 1000-1845 topic of OCR Power: Monarchy and Democracy.
Some videos are also applicable to option B1 Anglo-Saxon and Norman England, c. 1060-88 and option B3 Henry VIII and his Ministers, 1509-40 on the Edexcel British Depth Studies.

A section of their website is dedicated to the middle ages, with a series of articles, teaching resources and digitised manuscripts from their collections. The British Library website also has an interactive timeline of primary sources.
The National Archives
The National Archives has a range of lesson plans on medieval and early modern topics. These lessons plans include student activities, teacher notes, and digitised primary sources from their collections.

Medievalists.net has a section of its blog on school resources, with ideas for teaching medieval history.
English Heritage
The English Heritage website has a resource library of teaching resources centred around their sites. Categories include: Anglo Saxons and Normans; Medieval; and Tudors and Stuarts. Resources range from KS1 to KS4+.
University of Leeds
The University of Leeds website has a list of online resources on medieval history. There is a section on teaching resources, and they are also organised into theme, period, location and text.
England’s Immigrants
England’s Immigrants 1330-1550 is a searchable database of over 64,000 names of people who migrated to England during the period of the Hundred Years’ War and the Black Death, the Wars of the Roses and the Reformation. The project also produced school resources that are hosted on the National Archives website, and a series of podcasts.
