  • Date03 August 2022

Class Central, a website linking learners to online courses, recently published a list of the 40 most popular free online university courses and MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) starting in August 2022. The Cyber Security Fundamentals course, offered by University of London International Programmes via Coursera, tops this list.

Cyber security - ISG

The Cyber Security Fundamentals course is intended to provide a general introduction to key concepts in cyber security, covering cyber security basics, cryptography, and security management. It is aimed at anyone with a good general knowledge of information and communications technology. The course is taught by ISG Professor and Head of Department Chris Mitchell, who said "I hope this short free course will serve as a helpful introduction to the vitally important field of cyber security – I certainly enjoyed developing it."

The ISG has a long history of distance learning offerings. The Cyber Security Fundamentals course is a perfect gateway for prospective students for our new 100% online MSc Cyber Security, which launches this October in partnership with University of London and Coursera.

A live webinar providing an opportunity to find out more about the MSc Cyber Security with University of London takes place on 18 August 2022. MSc Cyber Security Programme Director, Dr Konstantinos Mersinas, will be available to answer questions about studying the programme online. Register here:
