Notable Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures alumni

Dame Felicity Lott is one of the best loved sopranos this country has produced. She is equally renowned for her versatility on the stages of the world's major opera houses as she is in the leading recital halls.

Her repertoire is mostly of French and German music and she has an excellent command of both languages.

She made her debut at English National Opera in 1975 and at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden the following year. Since then she has established a formidable international reputation as an outstanding interpreter of Mozart and Richard Strauss.

Dame Felicity was invited to sing at the Royal Wedding in 1986 and has sung at the Proms many times, including the Last Night.

On 9 February 2010, she was presented with The Wigmore Hall Medal by HRH The Duke of Kent KG at the launch of the hall's 110th anniversary programme.
