Dr Rita D’Alton-Harrison’s new textbook ‘Advocacy for SQE2: A Guide to Legal Practice’ was published on 12th August 2022 by Routledge
The Solicitors Qualifying Examination is the new route to professional qualification that was launched by the Solicitors Regulation Authority in September 2021. Students wishing to qualify as a Solicitor must now take a two-stage centralised exam at designated testing centers across the country. The first stage of the examination (SQE1) consists of multiple-choice tests and the second stage of the exam (SQE2) consists of practical skills assessment including skills such as advocacy.
The ‘Advocacy for SQE2: A Guide to Legal Practice’ is the first advocacy textbook to specifically support the new centralized Solicitors’ Qualifying Examination. It is a one stop solution that provides students with legal commentary, procedural and evidential rules and practical exercises and multiple-choice tests to help them prepare for the centralised exam. It is currently the only advocacy book on the market that specifically meets the SQE2 competency requirements.
The textbook is part of a series of SQE2 books commissioned by the publisher Routledge with Dr Rita D’Alton-Harrison as the Series Editor.
