The Department of Music at Royal Holloway has been ranked 9th place for Music in the Complete University Guide 2020.

The Complete University Guide's subject league table lists 82 institutions offering degrees in Music. Its independent and internationally respected rankings are based on performance measures including student satisfaction, research quality and entry standards.

The department has risen from 13th place in the 2019 table, returning to the top 10 positions regularly occupied in previous years. The department was also recently ranked 7th by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019.

As an institution, Royal Holloway has risen five places to 23rd in the university league table.
