The 2024 Good University Guide has ranked Royal Holloway’s Music Department as 2nd in the UK on the basis of our high-quality teaching and research. This ranking confirms our position as one of the UK’s leading Music departments, renowned for our teaching and research in topics ranging from contemporary musical creativity to global and historical perspectives on music and culture.
The Good University Guide writes: ‘Royal Holloway moves up to second place from fifth, its ranking boosted by achieving the highest scores in our analysis of the new Research Excellence Framework 2021’.
The Good University Guide also praises the employability of Music graduates, noting that ‘Music ranks above the other performing arts in our employment table’, with higher levels of employment than in degrees in many other subjects including chemical engineering and geology.
