The Centre for the History and Analysis of Recorded Music was led by Royal Holloway from 2004 to 2009, supported by an AHRC grant of just under £1m.
It was succeeded by the AHRC Research Centre for Musical Performance as Creative Practice (CMPCP), in which Royal Holloway was a partner. Royal Holloway continues to maintain the CHARM web resources including the discography and the archive of sound files transferred from 78 rpm discs.
