Kathy has also been elected as Fellow of the Academia Europaea this month, recognising her substantial contribution and leadership in the international field.

Commenting on the news, Kathy said;

“I am delighted and honoured to have been elected as a Fellow of such distinguished academies.  These Fellowships are recognition of the past 20 years of my research on language and literacy, and of the important contributions of my students, postdocs, and collaborators. I hope that engagement with these academies will open new opportunities to show how high-quality basic science can contribute to solving our most pressing social and economic challenges. ”
