Throughout the past year, the impact of COVID-19 and the subsequent restrictions it has enforced on public life has made our social work workforce as critical as ever. Vulnerable families are facing a wide range of difficult challenges due to the virus and social restrictions, which has led to an increased need for support for both children and families throughout the course of the pandemic, and the upcoming road to recovery.
We’re looking for high calibre graduates who have experience of working with vulnerable children, young people and families to be a part of our Step Up to Social Work programme.
Through our employer-led programme, you will receive intensive, hands-on practice experience working in a real-life social work role, hosted by one of our 7 boroughs.
On completion of the programme, you will obtain a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work, allowing you to register and practice as a social worker. We can train you in 14 months, with all your course fees paid, and you’ll also receive a bursary for the duration of the course.
Do you have what it takes and are able to demonstrate your maturity and emotional resilience supporting vulnerable children, young people and their families?
If so, the Surrey & South London Regional Partnership want to hear from you!
You are eligible to apply if you can demonstrate you already have:
- A minimum 2:1 level 6 degree qualification, for example, a degree with honours or a graduate certificate OR a minimum 2:2 honours degree plus a higher degree (level 7 or above), for example, a master’s degree or a Postgraduate Certificate/Postgraduate Diploma
- GCSEs in English or English language and mathematics at grade C or above (or approved equivalent); or the new grade 4 and above (or approved equivalent)
- Minimum of 6 months full-time (or equivalent) direct experience of working with vulnerable children, young people and/or families/carers or adults, either in a paid or voluntary capacity
- Residency in England
Click here to apply – application window open from 15th February to 7th April.
