Alix Walton who leads on the MSc in Advanced Practice participated in an event run by the North Central London (NCL) Social Work Education Partnership for social work practice educators on June 9th 2021.
Led by an inspirational keynote from Siobhan Maclean participants came together to acknowledge and reflect on the hard work, adaptability and creativity of Practice Educators. Practice Educators worked incredibly hard throughout the Covid 19 pandemic to creatively support and assess social work students while continuing to work in their primary role as practitioners/managers in social work. Alix highlighted the importance of celebrating and acknowledging the work of practice educators. This positive and inspirational event included well deserved well-being activities, emphasising the importance of self-care and organisations caring for and supporting their social work staff.
