Maximising the benefits of technology, whilst avoiding the pitfalls is a major challenge that requires a broad multidisciplinary approach to ensure that our services, systems and processes are safe, reliable and secure, offering accessibility and inclusivity for all.

Our digital community at Royal Holloway is committed to this challenge, and brings together  researchers from a diverse range of disciplines including Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Economics, Electronic Engineering, English, Geography, History, Information/Cyber Security, Languages, Law, Management, Mathematics,  Music,  Politics & International Relations and Psychology.

We are working with partners around the world to conduct research that contributes to the creation of safer digital futures for communities across the globe. A broad span of activity is funded by partners including, national and international research agencies, charities, UK government and industry.

Our research provides a gateway for consultancy services, training and general knowledge exchange activities. We invite engagement from industry and government related partners to explore and develop areas of mutual interest, for example:

• Co-defining, shaping and prioritising research problems 
• Working to create and fund research projects and initiatives that will make a tangible positive impact, regionally, nationally and internationally
• Accessing and/or establishing facilities for research, training and operations
• Accessing expert knowledge and training
• Creating high-quality input to influence strategic policies
• Influencing policy, service and product development
• Providing a strong voice for digital technology that embodies the values of fairness, equality, responsibility, trust and social and political integrity, and the principles of privacy, justice and law.
