Royal Holloway is consistently recognised for being one of the safest universities in the UK, and the work of its Security Team to maintain this safe and secure community has been recognised through the awarding of Security Team of the Year award from the Association of University Chief Security Officers (AUSCO). Simon Davis, Head of Security at Royal Holloway, said “I am delighted Royal Holloway has won this award, which was presented to us in the presence of security experts and practitioners from around the world, at the AUCSO annual conference that was held at Ghent University, Belgium this year”.

The Security Team at Royal Holloway won the award for their hard work ensuring that Royal Holloway is one of the safest campuses in the UK. They demonstrated to AUSCO that “they have performed their role in an outstanding or exemplary manner,” over the last year.

The university places huge importance on providing a safe and secure environment, safety of students, staff, and visitors. College Security operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to maintain a safe environment and provide help and advice to people on campus.

David Ashton, College Chief Operating Officer, said “The security team do an outstanding job ensuring the safety of everyone on our campus. The recognition from AUSCO of the campus security team is well deserved, and I am delighted that they have been recognised as Security Team of the Year. I’m sure the College community will join me in offering my congratulations.”

The Security Team is available 24-7 in an emergency by dialling 444 from any internal phone or 01784 443888 from an external line.
