Why study one of our integrated Foundation Years?

If you're looking for a way to boost confidence, grow skills and feel fully prepared for everything that studying a degree at university involves, then our Integrated Foundation Year could be for you.

We firmly believe that university can be and should be for anyone who has a drive and ambition to learn. Our courses will provide you with an amazing first step on your university journey, packed full of skills to empower you and build your confidence in academic studies at university-level. You’ll join a friendly and welcoming community of staff and students, passionate about learning and about helping you fulfil your ambitions. The courses are available to Home students and students from the EU who meet the English Language requirements.

What kind of support is offered on the course?

Our highly-qualified staff are at the heart of what we do, and their expertise will be your guide throughout your journey. You’ll benefit from lectures and small group sessions to build your confidence in class, as well as a personal tutor who’ll be on hand to discuss any challenges as well as your triumphs.

What will my campus experience be like?

We treat all our students equally, and your campus experience whilst studying the Integrated Foundation Year will be as exciting and packed full of opportunities as that of any other student from any other degree. You’ll have full access to all of our services and facilities – both academic and social – ensuring you can enjoy the absolute best that Royal Holloway has to offer right from the moment you enrol. Sports, clubs and societies will all be there for you to explore and be part of, and by the time you join the first year of your full degree course, we’re confident you’ll be feeling right at home!

As a student starting the Integrated Foundation Year with us in 2024, you will have guaranteed accommodation under the same terms as other new undergraduates, for both the academic year 2024 and for 2025.

For international students, we offer an International Foundation Year, run by Study Group at the Royal Holloway International Study Centre. This option offers a combination of English language and study skills training. Upon successful completion, you may progress on to selected undergraduate degree programmes at Royal Holloway, University of London. The International Foundation Year is also open to all international students, including those from the EU who do not reach the English Language requirements for the Integrated Foundation Year.

Students taking the Integrated Foundation Year (starting in 2024) benefit from a 10% discount off the Year 1 tuition fee for their full degree.
