The university now sits at 28 in the league table and in the top ten for three of its subject areas, Creative Writing, Geology and Marketing.

The Complete University Guide is an independent and internationally respected ranking of UK universities. It assesses performance including student satisfaction, research quality and entry requirements.

Professor Paul Layzell, Principal of Royal Holloway said: “Students choose to study at Royal Holloway because they believe in the quality of our teaching, the value of our research and the environment and experience we offer which supports our students to succeed.  Being once again ranked in the top 30 of all UK universities is independent endorsement that we are delivering on our promise.

“Royal Holloway is privileged to be home to some of the world’s leading authorities in science, the arts, management, economics and law. I am delighted that our strength in these areas has been recognised by having three subject areas in the top ten in the UK.

“We continually invest in resources for our students, and to advance the positive impact we can achieve as a research-intensive university.  In September we opened the Emily Wilding Davison Building, a state-of-the-art facility which brings together our library, employability and student services.

“Later this year we will open the Beatrice Shilling Building, which will be home to the Department of Electronic Engineering. This technology led building will provide high quality facilities for all students and staff.”

This is the second league table to rank Royal Holloway within the top 30 of all UK universities. The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 also placed Royal Holloway at 28 in its UK universities rankings.
