Techne Central Team - Contacting Us

The Techne Team is based at Royal Holloway University of London.  We are here to answer any questions you may have about the Techne Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP), your Techne funding and training. For any questions regarding your PhD programme, please contact your home institution in the first instance.

Please see below the members of our team.  We are all contactable centrally by email techne@rhul.ac.uk and we will ensure that the relevant staff member receives your enquiry. 

Techne Director:  Dr Hannah Platts

(hours: Tuesday & Wednesday)

As the Techne Director, Hannah is responsible to the Steering Group for the overall vision and development of an innovative Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) that is focused on the particular needs of doctoral students in the Arts and Humanities. Alongside her role as Director, Hannah is Associate Professor in Ancient History and Archaeology at Royal Holloway University of London.

Techne Senior Administrator, Finance and DTP Administration: Carol Hughes

(hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00)

Carol is responsible for the financial aspect of Techne including funding applications for RTSG, CEA and REA and any queries about your funding, sickness, maternity and the UKRI/AHRC Terms & Conditions. 

Techne Senior Administrator, Training and Communication: Dr Kate Ferry-Swainson

(hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00)

Kate is responsible for the design and administration of the student training and events programme, maintenance of the training systems, communication, website and production of the student newsletter.

Ev Dubinsky, Techne EDI Coordinator

(hours: Tuesday am 09:00 to 12:00)

Ev is responsible for helping Techne develop its EDI initiatives and for ensuring that Techne documentation and guidelines have EDI at their core.
