Understanding your offer
Once we’ve made a decision, we’ll email you an offer letter. This will include any specific conditions.
You can see the status of your offer on Royal Holloway Applicant Portal.
Conditional offers
Here, your offer is usually conditional upon your final grades. If you accept your offer and meet the conditions, your place on the course is guaranteed.
English language conditions
If English isn’t your first language, you may be required to take a recognised English language test, as a condition of your offer.
If you’ve already taken an English language test, but not reached the required marks, you may be able to apply for an English language pre-sessional programme.
Accepting your offer
You can accept your offer on the Royal Holloway Applicant Portal.
Deposit payments for UK/Home students
All UK applicants to postgraduate taught programmes starting in 2024 are required to pay a deposit of £100 towards their tuition fee in order to secure their place.
All deposits will be offset against your tuition fees and deducted when you enrol.
Deposit payments for international students
We encourage all non-UK students to pay a tuition fee deposit of £3,000 or £10,000* as soon as possible to secure their place on the course.
If you require a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) letter to be issued, you will need to pay the deposit beforehand.
For courses starting January 2024 we advise you to pay the deposit by 15th December 2023.
For courses starting September 2024 we advise you to pay the deposit by 30th June 2024.
All deposits will be offset against your tuition fees and deducted when you enrol.
* We have seen an increase in UKVI refusals for those domiciled in certain regions therefore applicants from affected regions will be asked to pay the higher deposit amount which will be detailed in your offer letter.
Declining your offer
If you wish to turn down your offer of a place on a course, we’d appreciate it if you let us know as soon as possible.
Deferring your offer for a year
If your plans change and you’d like to defer your offer until the next academic year, please submit a request through your applicant portal. Deferral is not usually a problem, but sometimes, due to student numbers, it is not always possible. We will get in touch as soon as possible to let you know.
