Applicants to Royal Holloway come from a diverse range of backgrounds and we accept a broad range of qualifications to our courses. Each applicant is considered carefully on their individual merits, but please see below for the standard minimum entry requirements for students from Switzerland.
If you have taken the Maturitatszeugnis, you will be considered for direct entry onto our undergraduate programmes. Most of our courses consider an average grade of between four - five. Specific grade requirements can be found in the course finder entry for your chosen course.
Maturite Cantonale / Kantonale Maturitate
If you have taken the Maturite Cantonale / Kantonale Maturitate, you will be considered for direct entry onto our undergraduate programmes. Most courses consider an average grade of tres bien / sehr gut / molto bene depending on which course you are applying fo. Specific grade requirements can be found in the course finder entry for your chosen course.
A Levels & International Baccalaureate (IB)
If you have taken A levels or the IB, you will be considered for direct entry onto our undergraduate programmes. Specific grade requirements can be found in the course finder entry for your chosen course.
How to apply
Undergraduate students applications are made online via UCAS.
If you have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate subject with good grades/GPA and at a reputable university, then you will be considered for entry to a Royal Holloway Master's degree programme. Exact requirements will depend upon the programme, but most departments will ask for a Diplome, Diplome d'Etat or Licence with 4 to 5 out of 6 overall depending on your institution.
Research Degree (MPhil/PhD)
If you have successfully completed a Masters degree in an appropriate subject with good grades/GPA and at a reputable university will be considered for entry to a Royal Holloway MPhil/PhD programme. Exact requirements will depend upon the programme, but most departments will ask for a Diplome, Diplome d'Etat or Licence with 4 to 5 out of 6 overall depending on your institution.
