Cristina, a full year exchange student from Spain let us know how much she enjoyed her time at Royal Holloway -
'I chose to study at Royal Holloway to immerse myself in British culture, expand my network and enhance my employability. I found it very convenient to be close to a bustling city while living in a peaceful area surrounded by nature. There is always something happening on campus. Whether you fancy partying or spending a cosy evening crafting, Royal Holloway organises activities for everyone, so it is easy to find friends who share your interests. The experience has allowed me to develop both professionally and personally, engage with the community and meet new people.
The teachers are very friendly, the atmosphere in the classes was enriching and I enjoyed the educational approach in which research is encouraged, but for me the most important factor was the opportunity to engage in projects related to my career aspiration: teaching Spanish. I supported students at local high schools and led a weekly workshop at the university. Royal Holloway offers multiple employment and volunteering opportunities that can be invaluable in helping you decide whether to pursue a certain master's degree or to gain insight into your future career.
I would recommend willingness to take every opportunity that presents itself. Doing things outside my comfort zone has been very rewarding and I encourage everyone to do the same'.
