How To Prepare for Collaboration & Getting the Most Out of Partnerships

This ‘how-to’ session will provide a practical guide to beginning and managing collaborative work and building partnerships.

It will be led by Evelyn Wilson (Co-Director, NCACE and Director, The Culture Capital Exchange) alongside contributors from academia and the culture sector with significant experience of leading and supporting collaborative projects who will give their accounts and perspectives of partnership working, describing the opportunities and challenges associated with developing collaborations and partnerships of different kinds and scales.

The session will provide attendees with an overview of some current literature and tool kits on establishing and developing collaborations as well as a space for reflection on the needs and values associated with developing strong, ethical collaborative ecologies.

Attendees will also be encouraged to consider their own existing collaborations and how they can develop these further and/or how they may be better prepared to embark on new collaboration.

A couple of weeks prior to the event, attendees will be provided with a Background Reading and resources list to support deeper engagement in the session itself.

Workshop leader and contributors will include:

Evelyn Wilson, Co-Director National Centre for Academic and Cultural Exchange (NCACE) and Director, The Culture Capital Exchange.
Claire Malcolm (Founder and Chief Executive, New Writing North)
Dr Alexandra Reynolds, (University of Southampton)
