Supporting local businesses and organisations

Helping business to solve problems and shape strategies

With Royal Holloway’s global reputation for research and commercialisation we offer research support and provide expertise to a wide variety of external partners including charity, community organisations, campaign groups and other not-for-profit organisations. We also work with local businesses and charities providing over 8,000 volunteer hours a year and support local employer’s recruit students for casual and vacation work.

Our Community Research Hub is a pilot scheme offering research support to a wide variety of external partners including charity, community organisation, campaign groups and other not-for-profit organisations. Find out how we can help not-for-profit organisations.

We also work with government bodies and businesses to provide a wide range of services in our areas of expertise, to help businesses solve short-term problems and hone their long-term strategies. Find out more here.

An example of the many ways we can use our research expertise to help organisations is through StoryFutures; our ambitious research and development partnership aimed at boosting the UK’s creative sector based in the Surrey, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire areas.

Among the university’s 10,000 students and 1,700 staff are numerous volunteers with a wide range of skills and interests. So, whether you are looking for volunteers for a one-off event or a regular volunteer opportunity, we may be able to help. More than 240 organisations have already registered to join our Community Action Partners' Network. Find out how to become a Community Partner

Our Careers and Employability Service can help you find exactly the right talent for your organisation, the team are always keen to engage with employers who are looking to support and recruit our students and recent graduates. We have a free online jobs board where you can advertise graduate roles, placements and internships to students and recent graduates.

We can also help local employer’s recruit for part-time and vacation roles; at our busiest part-time Jobs Fairs some 1,500 students attend, all of whom are looking for casual and vacation work and who are keen to develop their employability skills.
