Techne Central Team - Contacting Us

The Techne Team is based at Royal Holloway University of London.  We are here to answer any questions you may have about the Techne Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP), your Techne funding and training. For any questions regarding your PhD programme, please contact your home institution in the first instance.

Dr Danielle Sands, Director

As the Techne Director, Danielle is responsible to the Steering Group for the overall vision and development of an innovative Doctoral Training Partnership that is focused on the particular needs of doctoral students in the Arts and Humanities. Alongside her role as Director, Danielle is a Senior Lecturer in Comparative Literature and Culture at Royal Holloway University of London.

Dr Hannah Platts, Deputy Director

Hannah joined Techne in late 2023 and is based at Royal Holloway University of London where she is a Senior Lecturer in Ancient History and Archaeology with a focus on the material culture and social history of ancient Rome.  In her role as Deputy Director, Hannah has particular responsibility for Techne training. 

Dr Louise Davies, Manager

Louise is responsible for providing operational leadership and management of the DTP and is the main point of contact regarding operational policy and collaboration.

Carol Hughes, Techne Senior Administrator, Recruitment and Finance

Carol is responsible for dealing with student applications for RTSG and placements and for any queries about funding.  She is also responsible for administering the recruitment competition for Techne.

Daniel Trigg, Techne Senior Administrator, Training and Events

Daniel joined the Techne team in September 2023 and is responsible for the administration of the student training and events.
