Run for students thinking of applying to study Physics at university, these one-day sessions give a flavour of undergraduate Physics teaching.

We run both a straight Physics and a theoretical Physics day. Students will experience some hands-on practical activities, or computational problems in our teaching laboratories, and hear two lectures by scientists talking about their work.

Students will also have the opportunity to ask our admissions tutor any questions about the UCAS process.

We run an annual Particle Physics masterclass. This is a one-day event consisting of university-style lectures, sessions in our teaching laboratories and other hands-on activities, supervised by staff and students from the department.

Students will learn about Quarks, Leptons, Antimatter, the Big Bang, CERN and the ATLAS detector, from our research experts at Royal Holloway.  

Please note that due to the popularity of this event, places are limited to 10 per school.

This live show about sounds and waves focuses on students gaining an understanding of waves in Physics, via the medium of sound. Aimed at Year 7, 8 and 9, the event is carried out in schools. It can also be offered as a workshop.
